My name is Kate and I’m fortunate enough to be a new face at JustB Art and Design. I have always been a creative person. I’ve found many mediums to express my creativity, whether that’s through photography, sketching, coloring, painting, gift-wrapping or most recently diving into the world of creating with textiles through macrame, macra-weaving and weaving! In fact, I remember declaring as a young girl to my friends that “I was born to draw!”
Somewhere along the way, that declaration was buried by a young determination to achieve by maximizing my paycheck; however, it never quite disappeared. While working in the tech industry, that little girl’s voice began to ring more clearly in my mind and I started to listen. After ten years in Digital Marketing it was time to make a change and fulfill my desire for a career that was a bit more tangible. So I packed up my laptop, pens, pencils and sketchbook and headed back to school to study Interior Design!
I describe my style as relaxed scandinavian with a touch of bohemian. I gravitate towards color palettes you would find in nature and just can’t get enough of the juxtaposition of modern form in architecture and furniture with natural elements in decor like driftwood and plenty of houseplants!
I can browse design and home magazines and blogs endlessly and get a kick out of analyzing paint colors, so if the display walls of paint samples seem overwhelming to you – I’m here to help you narrow it down.
